Why does it say my email is taken?

This means you have already applied to one or more roles using the Quick Apply option which required you to submit your email in order to apply. Once you applied the account is created against the email you used and in order to communicate with the employer or apply to other jobs you need to complete your profile. 

To do that, make sure you verified your email address first. If you haven’t, find the verification email in your inbox (please check the spam folder too). Once your email is verified, you can sign in with your new login credentials and start filling out your profile which has to include a profile photo (it has to be your actual photo), a profile description, and a minimum of 5 skills chosen to be highlighted on your profile.
